Decolonisation Project visual minutes

What role does colonisation play within a business school environment?

December 2022 marked the official launch of the three-year Decolonisation Project at Birmingham Business School. To commemorate the occasion, and in the spirit of the project to explore arts-based methodologies as research practice, London-based illustrator and artist, Julia Miranda came to document the event through visual minutes. Acting as both a point of departure for individual conversations, discussions, explorations and reflections into personal journeys to decolonise our own practices, as well as a reminder of the project and the commitment made to continue the work to decolonise the Business School during the launch. Julia generously offered an afternoon’s mentorship and training for a BBS student to create their own visual minutes of the event. Alongside Julia’s work, we have visual minutes created by Felicity Porter, a visiting student, studying Marketing and Management.
